Tam Bronkey, PGA Head Golf Professional Bio: Provided Below

"Tam Bronkey is a Quarter-Century Class A PGA Professional and the Head Golf Professional at Juniper. Tam graduated from the University of Oregon and played on the Varsity Golf Team while earning his degree.  Before turning his attention to the golf business, Tam was a Touring Professional on mini-tours such as the Nike Tour and Golden State Tour.  In 2001, Tam Monday-qualified for and played in the PGA Tour’s Nissan Open (currently Genesis Open) at Riviera CC.  Competing at golf for so many years has helped Tam understand both the ups and downs associated with the passion to improve, and this translates well to his ability to work with golf students of every ability level.

Tam was formerly the Head Golf Professional at Marbella CC in San Juan Capristrano, CA (2001-2006) where he coached current PGA Tour Player, Tain Lee and several D1 junior players (notably Matthew Pierce: Duke University and Tyler Smith: USC).

Tam has since instructed in Central Oregon for the last 19 years, serving as Eagle Crest’s Director of Instruction and as Bend Golf Club’s Director of Player Development prior to arriving at Juniper in 2023.  Tam was the Head Boys Golf Coach at Redmond High School for 10 years and last year was the Head Boys Golf Coach at Caldera High School in Bend.

Tam’s teaching philosophy revolves around building essential golf skills vs. following a rigid swing-model.  His players are encouraged to continue with their unique swing style, but to add the necessary skills in order to improve long-term. Tam also believes coaching in a comprehensive manner, which emphasizes the use of technology (i.e. video analysis, and launch monitor data), scoring, and the short-game. Tam has an equal passion for working with advanced students and beginners alike…knowing how to direct each to accomplish what they desire to get from the game!"
